Rung 1: Master the operational craft
The first three to five years are about flawless execution: receiving, issuing, documentation, stock accuracy. This is where professional reputations are forged. Certifications such as the foundation certificates in stores and warehouse operations signal seriousness to employers early.
Rung 2: Learn to see the whole chain
Supervisors and officers stall when they know only their silo. The professionals who break through deliberately rotate — procurement, planning, logistics — or study end-to-end frameworks. The CSCP-Ug certification exists precisely for this transition: plan, source, make, deliver, return.

Rung 3: Translate operations into money
